Type of use

The Crimper Control is used to control the height obtained following crimping. Our range covers all standard Øs: 13-15-17-18 & 20.

All of our Crimper Controls conform to the FEA standard

Ref.: 743-03-103 >> Ø13 for glass necks FEA13

Ref.: 743-03-113 >> Ø15 for glass necks FEA 15

Ref.: 743-03-123 >> Ø17 for glass necks FEA 17

Ref.: 743-03-133 >> Ø18 for glass necks FEA 18

Ref.: 743-03-143 >> Ø20 for glass necks FEA 20

Our equipment can handle any other diameters - contact us for more details

Determining the value “H” to be checked on the neck can be performed in two separate ways:
- The theoretical way requires the time needed to collect information from your suppliers
- The other, practical way has the advantage of enabling you to start using the “Crimper Control” straight away.

Schéma théorique Crimper Control
Schéma théorique Crimper Control

H = value to be checked
Th = the thickness of the metal on the dish
J = the thickness of the compressed joint
V = the height of the neck, excluding the vee-ring
P = the thickness of the platform (only available for certain types)

Equation for the value to be checked
H = 2 Th + J + V + (P)

Checking data
Min. value = H
Max. value = H + 0.3

Adjust crimping by following the guidelines ordinarily used for this type of operation.

Once crimping has been obtained, check its outward appearance and airtightness using the means at your disposal. In our opinion, using a decompression chamber is the most effective way of highlighting any issues with airtightness.

Once a crimped vial has successfully passed these tests, it can then be used as a control sample. The reference value “H” will be the one taken from this crimp using the “Crimper Control”.

The following checking data will be taken from this sample:
Min. value = H - 0.1
Max. value = H + 0.1
